Tickets are still available for the 'LeycesterFest' beer festival in Warwick this month.

Warwick Court Leet is organising the annual event for Friday March 24 and Saturday March 25, with the money raised all going to the renovation project at the Lord Leycester Hospital.

Guests will be able to try over 20 different ales and several ciders, and the prosecco bar will once again be in place.

Entry to the event is by ticket only, and they can be purchased online here or from the visitor centre and Torry's Hardware Shop on West Street.

The event website says: "LeycesterFest (The Lord Leycester Beer & Cider Festival) returns in March, running over Friday 24 and Saturday 25.

"The festival will be held in the iconic great hall of Lord Leycester Hospital.

"This year's festival is running a little later than usual to allow the renovations of the great hall to be completed."

Friday's session will run from 4pm – 10pm, with Saturday's session opening at 12pm – 10pm, or when dry.

A full beer list has also been posted on the event's Facebook page.

Work on the £2 million restoration project at the historic hospital began at the end of last year.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project will see the building transformed into a modern, authentic visitor attraction.

The grant, awarded in November 2021, will also see a new gift shop café and ticket office built in the Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

The Lord Leycester Hospital was founded by Robert Dudley, a favourite of Queen Elizabeth I, and built for housing former servicemen which it does to this day.

The building celebrated its 450th anniversary at the end of last year and is expected to open to the public in summer 2023.
