Hours of recovery work are now over on the A46 following a car fire this morning.

The dual carriageway was shut southbound after the incident near Kenilworth.

Two lanes were reopened later on this morning, while the third remained closed for "recovery and to treat an oil spillage".

National Highways confirmed at around 3.30pm that all lanes had at last reopened.

Delays of 30 minutes had previously been reported, but National Highways says there are no longer any delays in either direction.

Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene.
