Plans for up to 160 new houses near Warwick and Leamington Spa have been met with multiple objections.
A planning application submitted for new homes, including 40 percent affordable housing in Bishop's Tachbrook, has received numerous objections from third parties.
The plans, submitted by Sharba Homes Ltd, revolve around new homes at Oakley Wood Road.
The site itself, which is 10.30 hectares of land, is located on the south-eatern side of Bishop's Tachbrook near Warwick and Leamington and consists of a field used for grazing.
In response to the application, a Tachbrook resident of 30 years and 'keen historian' objected the development, citing serious traffic and safety concerns, describing Oakley Wood Rod as already narrow and subject to "a prime rat-run in and out of Leamington, exacerbated by the commuter route to Gaydon JLR and the M40, traffic for the new school, and by drivers avoiding the already congested A452 around the Shires retail park and Heathcote developments."
One wrote: "I have watched in dismay as the village has suffered years of recent housing estate encroachment, with thousands of houses built around Whitnash, Harbury lane, Warwick Gates, and in the entire general south Leamington and Warwick district.
"It seems almost inevitable, like so many other of Leamington's previous outlying villages, that we will eventually be swallowed up into the urban sprawl - a sad irreversible loss for our community that places high value on its rural isolation and a proud sense of belonging and independence."
Other objections included issues over the "blatant" destruction of wildlife, current problem of sewage flooding on Oakley Wood Road and destruction of the rural landscape.
One Oakley Wood resident said: "It would destroy open greenfield land and harm the rural landscape that defines our village.
"Socially, it would add heavy pressure to already overstretched schools, GP surgeries, and roads.
"Economically, it provides no proven local need or long-term benefit."
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service made no objection to the development, however this was subject to the condition that the development "shall not be occupied until a scheme for the provision of adequate water supplies and fire hydrants necessary for firefighting purposes at the site, has been submitted to and approved in writing by the local Planning Authority.
"The approved scheme shall be implemented in full prior to occupation of any development to the satisfaction of the Local Planning Authority."
Prior to the submission of this application, a previous one was submitted for around 150 homes on the same site, in 2016.
However it was refused due to several reasons including environmental damage to and around the site.
The full planning application can be viewed here.
