Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

And for more local planning decisions, keep an eye out for our weekly updates published every weekend.

Warwick Town Council

The Green Party has taken the vacant All Saints & Woodloes seat at Warwick Town Council.

A date has been announced for The Mayor of Warwick's charity fashion show.

A dedicated group of local residents, business owners, and community leaders is to help push forward plans to "ensure Warwick remains a thriving town for years to come."

Warwick District Council

Councillors have approved a 2.99 per cent rise in Warwick District Council's portion of council tax.

Council officers "underestimated the technical knowledge, support and oversight" needed in the near £1 million refurbishment of the public paddling pools in Warwick and Leamington Spa.

A Warwickshire councillor who defected from Reform UK has lifted the lid on a nine-month civil war in which accusations of slander have been traded with the leadership.

Another revealed how George Finch's "synthetic" selection as leader seemed to be "more down to who had time to do the job than ability".

Families across Warwickshire have days to wait before they find out which secondary schools they have been allocated for the 2026 academic year. This comes after changes were approved to the way places are allocated.

Warwickshire County Council has finally set its budget for 2026-27 – but only after another unedifying squabble which saw Reform UK and the Conservatives axe the debate after one interrupted speech. The original budget setting meeting took 10 hours at the end of which no decision was made.

A Warwickshire councillor who covered his mouth with bright green tape to highlight a four-month ban from cabinet debates remains at loggerheads with leader George Finch.
