'Small and friendly' Warwick Book Club encourages new members to 'take part and have fun'

Warwick Book Club will meet on Monday 16 November to discuss Mother Mary Comes to Me, the memoir by Booker Prize-winning author Arundhati Roy.
The discussion will start at 7pm in the Martyrs Room at Mary St Immaculate Church in Warwick.
Meetings usually last about an hour, although members are free to leave when they wish.
The club describes itself as a "friendly group of readers who meet roughly once a month to talk about a book they have all (mostly) managed to finish".
It reads a mix of fiction and non-fiction, and there is "no pressure on anyone who did not quite reach the final chapter".
Attendance is free.
The group is small by design, usually between five and 11 people, and Marie, one of the organisers, is "keen to stay a small, friendly club so that all can take part and have fun".
Anyone who would like to come along and try a meeting is invited to email Marie on [email protected] or via the website.
The club has also begun planning its early 2027 reading.
Titles under consideration include The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe and Brat Farrar by Josephine Tey.
"Dates for those meetings are still to be confirmed - feel free to register too if you can't make the meeting on the 16th but would like news of next year's meetings, when they are ready," organisers said.
