We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Technical Product Development Specialist to join our customer's Wheel and Tyre Core Team based in the Gaydon area. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge vehicle technologies and play a key role in shaping the future of mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and develop requirements and test procedures for wheels, tyres, valves, assemblies, puncture management systems (PMS), and tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
- Conduct and contribute to Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Develop engineering tools to support wheel and tyre development.
- Perform data analysis and compile technical reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process efficiency, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and virtual/simulation-based development.
- Support cross-functional collaboration across design, manufacturing, marketing, research, and regulatory teams.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the line manager in line with the role.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently under broad guidance.
- Strong technical writing skills with a proven ability to author engineering documentation.
- Basic project management skills with the ability to manage personal workload and meet deadlines.
- Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in wheel and/or tyre development, including manufacturing, assembly, PMS, or TPMS.
- Familiarity with defining technical standards, test procedures, and quality management systems.
- Understanding of product development and delivery processes within the automotive sector.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
