33.88ph (Inside IR35), 40 hrs pw

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a luxury automotive OEM, based in Gaydon, who are seeking a System Safety Engineer to join their team

Job Description

As System Safety Engineer, your main responsibilities are:

• Reviews product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems.
• Independently analyses and recommends safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
• Develops safety documents as required to support customer and test/operational range requirements.
• Performs audits of operational areas and reports effectiveness of system safety program.
• Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions.

Qualifications / Skills needed

• Masters' Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field.
• Additional certification in Functional safety.
• 7-10 years Functional Safety HV system
• ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) assessments and FMEA (Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis)
• Strong understanding of High Voltage Architectures (batteries, inverters, power distribution, charger, DCDC)
