We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Technologist to provide technical support across a range of engineering project activities. Based in Gaydon, this contract role is ideal for a senior-level professional with a strong background in engineering implementation and project delivery.
You will play a key role in supporting the design, specification, scheduling, production, installation, and commissioning of equipment. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing complex projects and mentoring junior team members, while ensuring technical accuracy and timely progress.
Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support for engineering project activities from concept through to commissioning. Assist in the preparation of designs, specifications, schedules, and documentation. Support production, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment. Review and verify project progress for invoicing or payment purposes. Manage projects or processes independently with minimal supervision. Coach and review the work of junior professionals and technicians.
Skills & Experience Required: Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and project implementation. Proven experience managing complex engineering projects or processes. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address difficult and sometimes complex challenges. Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members. Technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with industry standards and project control methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification or registration as a Technologist (where applicable). Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is advantageous.
