Position Title: Electrical Vehicle EDS Test Technician

Duration: Contract OUTSIDE IR35

Location: Hybrid Working - 3-4 Days on site in Warwick

Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.

Essential Criteria

You will support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test with:

  • Electrical function, performance and reliability tests relating to the complete EDS system including CAN architecture / network testing.
  • Harness Terminal Voltage
  • Harness Body Earth Capacity
  • Charging System Fusible Link
  • Fuse & Relay Capacity
  • Fusible Link Capacity
  • Function Misconnection
  • Main Boding Earth Safety & Security
  • Lead concern identification to root cause investigation including countermeasure recommendation.
  • Support design departments to ensure the quality of component testing
  • Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
  • Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
  • Technical support to the production plant and test house when necessary
  • Field investigation support as required for responsible systems
  • Some management of suppliers

Responsibilities:

  • Test/investigation reports, test plan, and test method
  • Secure the quality of electrical systems to Client standards
  • Complete responsible validation within project milestones

Preferred skills:

  • Have working knowledge of the Clients' electrical architecture
  • Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices
  • Understanding of the fundamentals electromagnetics
  • Understanding of component and vehicle EMC test requirements
  • Have fluent written and verbal English language capability.
  • Have experience risk assessment of electrical design and generation of test plans
  • Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections
  • Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques
  • Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, network and RF measurement equipment.

Additional Information:

  • Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Have good written and verbal communication
  • Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
  • Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft excel and project.
  • Self-motivating and self-managing.
  • Pro-active.
  • Positive.
  • Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
