Durability & Robustness Programme Leader

Location: Gaydon Hybrid working available Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35 Rate: £32.86 per hour (Umbrella)

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Durability & Robustness Programme Leader to ensure all customer expectations for durability and robustness are met through effective target setting, design development, and completion of whole vehicle verification activities. The Durability & Robustness Programme Leader will lead strategies encompassing virtual and physical test methods, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve attribute targets and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of all Attribute Requirement targets by Gateway.
  • Assist the Programme Attribute Team in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and execute detailed strategies and delivery plans for CAE, road load data, vehicle and system rig tests, and driven vehicle DV activities.
  • Collaborate with system and component teams to define and maintain cascaded target requirements supporting vehicle-level targets.
  • Work with component engineers and suppliers to resolve engineering issues.
  • Provide technical recommendations and deliver status reports on tests and issues.
  • Capture and progress lessons learnt from current vehicles, ensuring feedback to the Programme Attribute Team.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge/experience of engineering test activities.
  • Knowledge/experience of automotive technologies or systems.
  • Project management experience.

Experience Required:

  • Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies.
  • Understanding of Durability & Strength principles.
  • Project management experience in complex engineering test activities.
  • Problem-solving expertise, including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and DoE.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles.

Experience Preferred:

  • Knowledge/experience of AGILE working principles.
  • Working knowledge of CAD visualisation systems (e.g., 3Dx, TeamCentre).
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering with cross-functional experience.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
