Role: Project Design Specialist

Location: Remote w/ occassional travel to Warwick

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 month intial contract

Rullion are working with a leading manufacturer of Gas Turbines who are looking for support within their Design team.

We are looking in particular for Senior Design Engineers who have held Non Conformance Authority (NCA).

The Project Design Specialist is a central member of the mechanical design team, creating geometry and obtaining feedback from other team members to iterate to delivery of an optimised solution that meets project requirements. Mechanical design teams are dynamic in nature, with other specialists joining when needed, where the Project Design Specialist is present in the team from problem definition through to solution implementation. In the Turbomachinery team the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of gas turbine core components as part of a team spanning multiple continents.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You will study customer needs and fleet reports to guide your team on possible design approaches
  • You will work with technical specialists in analytical and manufacturing fields to develop optimised design solutions to address requirements
  • Where possible you will look for opportunities to build on prior knowledge when generating solutions
  • You will help your team to understand how the design direction affects project and technical risk
  • As your design solutions approach production you will take part in validation and verification work
  • In response to field failures you will take part root cause analysis for components in which you've developed a specialisation

What You Bring

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • You are fluent in English
  • You have worked in a multi-disciplinary mechanical design team as a Project Design Specialist for at least 10 years
  • You are interested in gas turbine technology and how it can be developed to remain a relevant technology through the energy transition
  • You are excited to create engineering solutions
