Plant Mechanic

We are currently recruiting for a well-established and fast-moving heavy haulage company that takes real pride in its work.

We are looking for a skilled and down-to-earth Plant Mechanic who is ready to get hands-on and become a valued part of their growing team. As a Plant Mechanic, youll be responsible for:

• The maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of gas, diesel, and electric-powered plant machinery.
• Servicing and repairing forklifts, scissor lifts, MEWPs, telehandlers, and other plant equipment.
• Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Conducting routine inspections and scheduled maintenance while keeping detailed records.
• Communicating with parts suppliers and assisting in the procurement of necessary components.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy workspace, ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures.

You will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a solid understanding of health and safety practices.
• A self-starter with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Good mechanical knowledge of gas, diesel, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in plant maintenance and servicing.
• A valid Forklift Operator Licence.
