The Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer experiencing significant growth and is now seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their expanding team. This is a low-volume, high-variety environment, offering exposure to interesting, complex components rather than repetitive batch work. The RoleAs a key member of the machine shop, you will be responsible for:- Setting, operating and programming CNC machines (lathes and/or machining centres)
- Working with Fanuc controls (essential requirement)
- Producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances
- Selecting tooling, carrying out in-process quality checks and maintaining documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement and departmental performance targets
- Strong CNC setting, operating and programming experience
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls (G & M codes)
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers)
- Experience in both milling and/or turning
- A proactive, quality-focused approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (6S, SMED etc.)
- Use of conventional machine tools
