Lead CGI Artist

Location: Gaydon Hybrid Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35 Rate: Up to £50.78 per hour (Umbrella), depending on experience

Role Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead CGI Artist to oversee the configuration and creation of still images for launch activities. This role is pivotal within the automotive design process, contributing to the development of high-quality visual content to support launch and marketing initiatives. The successful Lead CGI Artist will possess advanced skills in CGI/visualisation, retouching, and real-time rendering, coupled with a strong understanding of design studio workflows and digital material creation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality automotive CGI/visualisation imagery and manage associated workflows as a Lead CGI Artist.
  • Deliver advanced retouching for automotive visuals to ensure final image excellence.
  • Oversee the development of real-time visualisation assets and applications.
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate visualisation into the design process effectively.
  • Utilise software such as Autodesk Maya, VRED, Vray, Unreal Engine, and Adobe Creative Suite for content creation.
  • Ensure accurate digital material creation and translation to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain organisation and clear communication within the team to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in automotive CGI/visualisation image creation as a Lead CGI Artist.
  • Expertise in automotive retouching and real-time CGI/visualisation.
  • Proficiency in design studio workflows and visualisation integration.
  • Competence in relevant software: Autodesk Maya, VRED, Vray, Unreal, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of CG render pipelines and digital material creation processes.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Experience Required:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Substantial experience in creating visual stimuli, such as computer-generated stills, animations, VR, and real-time content.
  • In-depth understanding of CG rendering and material translation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.

Experience Preferred:

  • Expertise in digital material creation using Substance Suite.
